I find myself in a zoo when I’m losing my reality
We are only animals
Stardust blocking the light from our organs
Beg for a shell made of iron
I was perched on a tortoise as my heart was breaking
The sound was hollow
I should’ve been a tree with an open floor plan
Come make a home inside of me
I was born to feed the hungry mouths
As I forget to drink water
Skin dry like bark
I just need to soak back in time a moment longer
Mourn my camel-back journey parch
Lift sand into your palm
Let it trickle down between splayed fingers
These are my thoughts
This is my real sound
All I ever had was the wind to tell me my shape
