Art Technique: Pills Scanned, Digital Art
ALT Text of Poem:
Glittery nails, half heartedly shove my prescription
in through the plastic slot. You would have
thought someone would take notice. A glance?
Though my mind is deteriorating, I still have my
senses. I still exist.
Gaze shifting forward, my hands grasp the white
paper bag. The sound of pills rattling inside the
plastic echoes as the incandescent light shines a
halo upon my head, illuminating every flaw on my
skin.
Too aware. Too mindful. Too hyper vigilant.
My eyes are always so dry. So dry.
Sometimes I can hear myself blink
my own heartbeat makes me nauseous
I press flowers that I pick inside of books
and then I always forget about them
I never lose my keys
The last time I slept well was September of 2024
Exhaustion took over, accompanied by fever dreams
